StalkView grew out of one recurring annoyance: every "anonymous" Instagram viewer we picked up broke the promise on its label. One insisted on a login. So we built the thing we'd been looking for — enter a public username, get what you came for, and walk away without a footprint.
There's no big company here, and we won't pretend there is. A handful of developers and writers who care about privacy on the open web keep StalkView running. It all goes out under a single banner — the StalkView Team — because both the tool and the guides are a group effort, not one person's byline.

Search a username and the request goes out from our servers rather than your browser. What Instagram sees is traffic from StalkView's own infrastructure — not your personal IP and not your account. That's precisely why you never turn up on anyone's list of story viewers or in an activity feed: your identity was simply never attached to the lookup. Nothing gets installed, nothing gets signed into, and the whole session is wiped the moment you close the tab.
